VelaKi Well Being Sailing philosphy

It is a true Well Being holiday proposal for those who search the complete union with the nature and want to recreate more contact with themselves. Sailing, anchoring in solitary bays will help us recreate that fine connection that unites mankind to creation, also making us discover sailing as a form of Meditation.
The more sporty guests can take part of the management on board with the skipper receiving the first practical notions or improvement of techniques of coastal and off shore sailing navigation.
We have chosen the Greek Ionian Islands for their beauty, the scents, the light, the contrast between the green of the vegetation, the deep blue of the sea and the sky, for their enchanting bays and characteristic small ports where to anchor and carry out the activities of Well Being proposed by VelaKi, such as Reiki treatments and Yoga sessions.

Friends Ahoy!

We are Fabrizio and Sari, life partners and a sailing couple in the Greek Ionian archipelago! We live in Italy during the wintertime, and we organize sailing trips in Greece from May to October.
Captain Fabrizio is also an Artist and Reiki Master, and his well over 30 years of experience guarantees a memorable trip in the Mediterranean scenery on our 14-meter boat, which is our second home.
Sari is from Finland. She lives in Italy since 1988 and she is an assistant skipper. She cooks and takes care of the house(boat)keeper's duties. We also practice light Yoga stretching with Sari on deck or receive Fabrizio's Reiki energy therapy at the sunset.
The boat is our Home, and you will definitely feel like home. We also have our 16-year-old Kekku cat sailing with us! Our spacious and comfortably Jeanneau Sun Odyssey has 4 double cabins: 2-3 of them are for guests, with 2 toilets outside the cabins. Cabins can also be rented for single use.
In the daytime we offer hearty breakfasts and salad lunches, and dinners in Italian and Mediterranean style. We emphasize more vegetarian food; pasta, rice, fresh vegetables and fruits, Greek cuisine. If you wish, we'll dine in the Greek taverns so that you can enjoy fresh local fish and meat dishes.
The green Ionian Sea archipelagos are beautiful and peaceful. The winds do not blow as intensively as in the east of Greece, and the conditions for a wonderful and relaxing sailing holiday are perfect. Whenever you want, our sailing holidays are also a very useful school for sailing skills. Captain Fabrizio is happy to give guidance and advice on sailing the Mediterranean!
Our charter company is Greek and has been operating since 2000. Our customers are mainly from Italy, but over the years we have also had guests from England, Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, USA, Finland and especially Australia.
We speak Italian, English and Finnish.
Feel free to get in touch and we'll organize your next upcoming vacation together with the sails hoisted!

VelaKi Crew are girls!

VelaKi's crew is formed by co-skipper Sari and their beloved mascot Kekku, a sailing cat!
You will be looked after by Fabrizio, your charismatic Italian captain, and Fabrizio's Finnish wife and co-skipper Sari, who has lived in Italy for more than half of her life.
Sari hosts and takes care of the co-skipper's and cook's tasks. She likes to swim and practice Yoga. Sari makes sure that the guests are always good on board. You can just enjoy and relax!

The 16-year-old lady cat Kekku co-cat will also take care of you! We never sail without Kekku, it's vital to her and for us to be close. During the sailing Kekku mostly stays indoors and with cooler temperatures she might join us. Kekku has no problem with strangers and changing groups, she seems really enjoy her sea life!

Voreas VelaKi, the boat

The characteristic of the cutter equipped s/y Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45.1 Voreas VelaKi is the optimal comfort. A sailboat for professional use with the Greek flag and Greek professional license (PHI.3344.1/1092/2000) of the Yachting Service GR, Fiscal Code 1117541340. Skipper Fabrizio Cillo "Captain VelaKi" with more than thirty years of sailing experience. The safety equipment is for professional boats and for offshore navigation required by the IMO. Equipped for ocean navigation with excellent energy autonomy, with photovoltaic panels (www.energiasolare100.com/en/) and Silentwind wind generator (www.silentwindgenerator.com/en/).
Our eco-friendly philosophy has led us to invest heavily on board the boat, using systems capable of reducing some forms of pollution
considerably. For years, we have not used plastic bottles, thanks to the installation of a drinking water mixer with a Grohe filter (www.grohe.com). This system combined with a 40 lt h reverse osmosis watermaker of Osmosea (www.osmosea.it/?lang=en) ("Project: I drink the sea water"), allows us to drink good desalinated drinking water (Certified).
Our guests have access to three of the four very comfortable double cabins with the Captain's artistic decorations. The boat with Full Kasko insurance has two bathrooms with electric toilet with shower and an external shower, bed linen and towels, final cleaning and on-board services, skipper and help, breakfast, lunch and dinner (All Inclusive on request), with Italian, Greek and Oriental dishes.
Most of the year the boat is our home, so we want to convey a welcoming atmosphere to our guests, too!

On board you will also meet our adorable Kekku-cat, who mainly remains in the owners' cabin and only comes out when the temperature gets to the cooler evening.
